The second in a series of three seminars on Leadership in HR, this participative course follows on from Twelve Winds Consulting’s latest report Leadership in HR: Developing the Leadership of HR Professionals.

Presented by Twelve Winds Consulting and Partners Employment Lawyers, the series will provide an organisational development approach combined with the employment law perspective.

Leadership in HR:

For HR professionals a deep understanding of leadership skills is vital. Attracting, developing, and retaining great leaders is critical to organisational success. By aligning the leadership capacity of the organisation to its values and strategy, the HR department plays a vital role in developing organisational cultures that are cohesive, competent and have competitive advantage. In a highly complex, challenging, and competitive workplace HR needs to understand, promote, and support the very best quality of leadership there can be. Furthermore, HR professionals are leaders themselves. Their actions, leadership, and development have huge impact. HR is not a function that sits outside the organisation. HR should lead at the executive level – strategically, mindfully, and skilfully – for the benefit of the whole organisation.

Toby has over seventeen years of experience working in learning and development and leading businesses as a company director. He is a Senior Lecturer on Leadership at Birmingham University and a Cohort Director on the NHS Leadership Academy’s Elizabeth Garrett Anderson MSc in Healthcare Leadership.
